Town Report Omission

Please accept my appologies to the Selectboard and the entire town for the omission of the Selectboards Year End Report from the 2024 Year End Report.

Selectboard Year End Update 2024

The board would like to thank the town for their support over the past year.  While there have been many challenges, there have also been successes!  Just to highlight a few of the successes,

The December storm invoices for work done have been submitted for reimbursement.  FEMA will also be providing the town with Mitigation money.

July storm response is progressing with multiple projects completed and several projects still ongoing.  See additional information “2025 Flood Grant/Expense sheet. (Pg. 16)

Among other accomplishments this year, we completed the purchase of the Chamberlain land adjacent to the town garage, we feel that this was a great opportunity, and we are so glad that the deal was able to go through.  There is still much to do in preparation and plans for the property and we are confident that with the collaboration of board members and a small group of knowledgeable community members (TBD) that this property will be developed to the asset of the town, both near future and in years to come.

The Gaysville Bridge, although a continued struggle, the proper repairs were made, and in doing so we have managed to keep it open. While continuing to push the new bridge up the priority list at the state level.

We have updated the Capital plan and worked with the Planning commission to adopt the new Town Plan.

Our Highway Department has worked tirelessly over the past year with all the flood restoration projects, keeping our roads in great shape, and doing so with a shortage of help, along with our Town Clerks and all the many and Town committees THANK YOU!

There are many challenges yet to come, but we feel confident that with your support we will succeed.
