November 5th is right around the corner! Here are a few bits of information regarding absentee ballots….
- The Secretary of State’s Office of Vermont will handle mailing absentee ballots to all registered voters.
- If you were registered to vote by 9/9, you will receive an absentee ballot at the mailing address on your voter registration.
- If you registered to vote or changed your mailing address after 9/9, please reach out to the Clerk’s Office so we can issue you an absentee ballot once they arrive. You may be required to sign an Affidavit of No Ballot Cast.
- Absentee Ballots are expected to be delivered by the end of the month. If you do not see your absentee ballot by October 4th, please contact the Clerk’s Office.
- You may return your ballot by mail, the drop-box at the town office, walk it into the clerk’s office, or show up on November 5th to deliver it in person.
- You are not required to use the mailed ballot. If you prefer, you may vote in person. You will be required to sign an Affidavit of No Ballot Cast, if an absentee ballot has been issued to you, and return the unused absentee ballot.
What is an Affidavit of No Ballot Cast? – This form is for a voter to swear, under penalty of perjury, that they will not cast 2 ballots in an election.
